Built For the Whole Community

Nestled in the heart of Oak Park, the Community Recreation Center (CRC) was opened in 2023 as a welcome and open space for all Oak Park residents to enjoy.

From a free walking track to teen afterschool programming to inclusive locker rooms, the CRC was built with the community and its collective wellbeing in mind. Everyone deserves a space to move, learn, connect, and thrive.

Grades 6-12.

Yes, membership is only for Oak Park residents.

No, but you’re welcome to purchase a monthly membership in addition to your free afterschool membership.

No, we do not participate nor offer the Silver Sneakers program at the CRC. Check out our Lifelong Learning program, hosted at Dole Center.

No, we do not offer discounted memberships. All memberships are individual. Please refer to the memberships page for more information. We do offer financial assistance for memberships to the CRC.

We use a digital counter camera at the entrance to the fitness center. It counts members coming in and leaving giving you an approximate number (+/- 1 or 2 people) of members in the fitness center at that time. Try it yourself by heading to the CRC Fitness Center page to see how many people are currently in the fitness center!

No, the CRC does not have any aquatics. We do, however, have two outdoor pools, Rehm and Ridgeland Common.
