Information & FAQs
FAQs
Teen programs may include special events, trips, an afterschool program, leadership programs, social activities, recreation nights, workshops, and seasonal camps.
Eligibility depends on the specific program. Most teen programs are designed for middle school and high school-age participants, but families should review the listed age or grade range before registering.
Some programs may have resident and non-resident pricing or registration priority. Please review the registration details for each program.
Registration is completed online through Amilia. Some programs may require additional forms, waivers, or permission slips.
A parent or guardian should complete registration unless otherwise stated. Additional parent/guardian permission may be required for trips, transportation, or off-site activities.
Locations vary by program. Some programs are held at community centers, parks, schools, or recreation facilities, while others may include off-site trips. The confirmed location will be listed in the program description or pre-program communication.
Participants should arrive at the scheduled start time. For trips or special events, arrival and check-in times may be earlier than the start time, so families should review all pre-program information carefully.
Participants should bring any items listed in the program description or reminder email. This may include a water bottle, comfortable clothing, spending money, completed forms, or weather-appropriate items.
Some programs or trips may allow participants to bring money for food, games, souvenirs, or optional purchases. Staff will communicate this in advance when applicable.
This depends on the program. Families should check the program description and any reminder communication. When meals are not provided, participants should bring their own food or money if food is available for purchase.
Transportation availability varies by program. If transportation is included, details about departure location, return time, and expectations will be shared before the program.
Campers who are 12 years or older may be granted permission by their parents or guardians to sign themselves in and out. For children aged 10 or 11, we highly recommend that they be signed out by a parent or guardian. We do not provide crossing guards, and children will not be leaving in large numbers to walk home. If a parent feels their 10 or 11-year-old can sign themselves out, written notification must be provided in advance (they will have the option to do this on their child’s emergency form). Children under 10 years of age must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian.
Yes, if pick-up is required, the person must be listed as an authorized pick-up person. Staff will request photo identification.
Families should contact the program supervisor as soon as possible if a participant is late, absent, or needs to leave early.
Participants should only bring items needed for the program. The agency is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
Staff will address behavior based on the situation. Consequences may include a warning, contact with a parent/guardian, removal from the activity, early pick-up, or suspension from future programs.
Families should contact staff before the program date to review medication procedures. Medication must follow agency policy and may require forms, original packaging, and parent/guardian authorization.
Families should ensure that all emergencies, allergies, medical, and accommodation information is up to date during registration. Please contact staff in advance, so appropriate planning can occur.
Yes. Programs are supervised by staff, though the level and structure of supervision may vary depending on the age group, activity, location, and whether the program is on-site or off-site.
Some teen programs include field trips or off-site experiences. Trip details, transportation information, waivers, and expectations will be shared before the program when applicable.
Participants are expected to be respectful, follow staff directions, stay with the group, use appropriate language, keep their hands and feet to themselves, and participate safely. Unsafe, disrespectful, or disruptive behavior may result in parent contact, removal from the program, or restrictions on future participation.
Refund and cancellation policies may vary. Families should review the program registration information or contact staff before the program date.
Families should contact the program supervisor listed in the program information or customer service at (708) 725-2000.
